Enrolment to the First Reconciliation Sacrament Program is made by visiting the parish office where your details will be entered for you.

A copy of the child’s Baptism certificate is required as well as the permission of both parents/carers. Candidates need to be Catholic and in Year three or above.

People normally receive their Sacraments in the Parish where they live.

Unlike Baptism, which occurs only once in a person’s life, Reconciliation is a sacrament that is observed over and over all throughout the life of a Christian. It is a holy time where we can connect with God and become closer to Him.

To approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation before receiving the precious Body and Blood of Christ in the Sacrament of Eucharist, has great importance because it purifies one’s soul and prepares our hearts to receive Jesus and make a full Communion with Him.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is important in the lives of Catholics because when we confess our sins to the priest, the priest represents the whole community: all those people we have hurt by our sins, knowingly and unknowingly. By expressing our sorrow to him, we express our contrition and remorse to the whole community and the person is more inclined to change for the better and to strive for what is good.
