People normally receive Baptism in the Parish where they live.

However, Sts J. Vianney & T. More Parish welcomes families who wish to celebrate the baptism of their child at our church.

Baptism of those who do not live within this Parish requires permission of the Parish Priest of their place of residence.

By Baptism we are given the privilege of being part of the Christian community.

In Baptism we are incorporated into Christ’s Body, and receive a share in God’s life.

Through the waters of Baptism we have been made free from the slavery of sin in order to live life to the full.

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit at baptism enables us to bring Christ to the World.

The essential rite of this sacrament consists in immersing the candidate in water or pouring water over his or her head while invoking the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Everyone who is to be baptised is required to make a profession of faith. This is done personally in the case of an adult or by the parents and by the Church in the case of infants.
